Ensemble Dispersion Simulation of a Point-Source Radioactive Aerosol Using Perturbed Meteorological Fields over Eastern Japan

چکیده
We conducted single-model initial-perturbed ensemble simulations to quantify uncertainty in aerosol dispersion modeling, focusing on a point-source radioactive emitted from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant (FDNPP) March 2011. The ensembles of meteorological variables were prepared using data assimilation system that consisted non-hydrostatic weather-forecast model with 3-km horizontal resolution and four-dimensional local transform Kalman filter (4D-LETKF) 20 members. emission was not perturbed. weather validated in-situ measurements at Hitachi Tokai, respectively, approximately 100 km south FDNPP. provided probabilistic information multiple case scenarios for plumes. Some members successfully reproduced arrival time intensity plumes, even when deterministic simulation failed reproduce them. found small spread wind speed produced large uncertainties concentrations.

Point - source inertial particle dispersion
The dispersion of inertial particles continuously emitted from a point source is analytically investigated in the limit of small inertia. Our focus is on the evolution equation of the particle joint probability density function p(x,v, t), x and v being the particle position and velocity, respectively. For finite inertia, position and velocity variables are coupled, with the result that p(x,v, t...
متن کاملSimulation of artificial earthquake records using Point Source method with applying amplification effects
Today to design large hydraulic structures like dams, application of dynamic analysis in time domain seems very interesting due to its benefits. For applying such analysis, appropriate earthquake records that are compatible to site conditions are necessary for designer. Such information is rarely recorded for a dam site during an earthquake and usually the amount of recorded data is not suffici...
متن کاملNumerical Investigation on Contaminant Dispersion from a Source over the Blocks in Steady and Unsteady Flows
This paper deals with numerical study of semi-finite incompressible flow of air over two blocks with different heights in the presence of a condensing-source, dispensing- contaminant in the flow, in both steady and unsteady states. The numerical solution of governing PDE equations are constructed by a finite-volume method applied on structured grid arrangement. The effects of air flow velocity,...
متن کاملKinematic simulation of multi point turbulent dispersion
As three particles are advected by a turbulent flow, they separate from each other and develop non trivial geometries, which effectively reflect the structure of the turbulence. We investigate here the geometry, in a statistical sense, of three Lagrangian particles advected, in 2-dimensions, by Kinematic Simulation (KS). KS is a Lagrangian model of turbulent diffusion that makes no use of any d...
متن کاملSimulation of Boiling in a Vertical Channel Using Ensemble Average Model
Simulation of turbulence boiling, generation of vapour and predication of its behaviour are still subject to debate in the two-phase flow area and they receive a high level of worldwide attention. In this study, a new arrangement of the three dimensional governing equations for turbulence two-phase flow with heat and mass transfer are derived by using ensemble averaging two-fluid model and ...
